12th Aug, 2016: International Youth Day was commemorated by NSS and the Red Ribbon Club of the college in collaboration with State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh.
12-08-16: International Youth Day was commemorated by NSS and the Red Ribbon Club of the college in collaboration with State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh.
Following activities were held to mark the celebrations
a) Inter college competitions were held in Collage Making, Rangoli, Poster Making, and Slogan Writing.
b) A Scooter Rally was flagged of by the chief guest Sh. JitendraYadav, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh. Dr. Vinita Gupta, Director Health Services and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Anita Kaushal were also present. More than 100 students participated in the rally to spread the message of “Aids Awareness among the Youth”.
c) Blood Donation Camp was organised in which 55 units of blood was donatedby the students and staff of the college.
The Chief Guest, Sh. JitendraYadav,Director Higher Education, gave the prizes and certificates to the winners of different events. Congratulating the blood donors he said that youth should come forward for this noble cause as it can save the precious lives. He added that students should act as ambassadors to make the people aware of AIDS and its preventive measures. He applauded the efforts of principal, members of faculty and students for organising such events as it reminded him of his college days.
Dr.Vinita Gupta, Director Health Services, congratulated the blood donors and prize winners. She appreciated the contribution of the college for conducting such activities.
Principal Prof(Dr.) Anita Kaushal appreciated the commitmentof the blood donors for such generous cause and congratulated the faculty members and students for organising such events.
The organizers of the events are grateful, Dr.Gursharan Singh (Retd. Associate Professor in Punjabi,PGGCG-11, Chd.,) for providing gifts to blood donors and The Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh for their cooperation and support.
