10th Sep 2016: Traffic Awareness and Road Safety Society organized a Talk and Interactive session

Traffic Awareness and Road Safety Society of Post-graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized a Talk and Interactive session on Community Policing today. The Talk was organized in collaboration with SAANJH, an organization working as an interface between Punjab police and citizens. Mr. Satish Kumar, Retd. DGP (Punjab police) and Project Manager, SAANJH was the speaker for the session. Through his presentation he introduced the students with the structure of SAANJH, the services facilitated by it, and the simplified procedure to avail these online and on-site services.

Mr. Satish Kumar highlighted the role of this organization in bridging the gap between the police personnel and general citizens and enumerated the efforts being made for building partnership and cooperation between police and civilians. This partnership is basically aimed at ‘grievance redressal, victim assistance and dispute resolution’ and thereby assists in restoring the dignity of the common man. This was followed by a highly interactive session wherein the students asked pertinent questions related to the theme and got an in-depth knowledge on the significance of Community Policing.
