World AIDS Day Observed

PGGCG-11, Chandigarh organised Candle Lighting Programme with a theme “Rock the Ribbon” in collaboration with RED Ribbon Society and National Service Scheme (NSS) marking the World Aids Day in the college campus on 1st December, 2022. Dr. Anurita Sharma, Convenor, Red Ribbon Society, Dr. Ritu Sekhri, NSS Program Officer coordinated the programme. 150 NSS Volunteers also contributed to make the programme successful.

World Aids Day, designated on 1st December every year since 1988 is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. Activities like Nukkad Natak, Mass Rally and Candle lighting were organised. The students were sensitized about the progress in ending Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and progress towards attaining universal health to achieve an AIDS-free generation. Principal, Prof. (Dr) Anita Kaushal, lauded the efforts of the organizers and students for raising awareness against HIV infection.
