Jigyasa- The Science Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls Sector 11, Chandigarh organised a One Day Workshop on “Scientific methods as tools for acquiring knowledge” on 21st January 2025. The programme was conducted in two sessions. Session I was organized by Chemistry Department which was addressed by Mr Anuj Kumar (Instrumentation Engineer) on “Hands on Training of Lab Skills.” Working of various instruments like Conductivity Meter, PH meter, Potentiometer, Polari meter, Flame Photometer and U.V spectrophotometer was demonstrated.
In Session Il Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Assistant Professor, Botany Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh gave a lecture-cum-workshop on “Hands on Workshop on Herbarium Techniques”. She discussed in detail the process of preparation, presentation and preservation of herbarium. Live demonstration of pressing and organization of plant specimen on herbarium sheet was undertaken in Botanical garden. Around 50 students attended the workshop and were benefitted by the information.
Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college congratulated the faculty on the successfully organizing such programmes that will provide a valuable and impactful learning experience to the students.
