Library Department of Post Graduate Govt. College for Girl’s Sector-11, Chandigarh, conducted a series of competitions to promote reading habits, enhance information literacy and create awareness about the rich resources available in the library on 04-11-2025. The event aimed to encourage students to actively participate in library activities and to develop a spirit of healthy competition.
Various competitions such as Book Hunting, Reference Hunting, Slogan Writing, Book Jacket Making and Book Mark were held. More than 80 students from different departments enthusiastically participated and showcased their knowledge and skills in using library resources effectively. Participants demonstrated excellent familiarity with library organization, reference tools and digital resources. The book hunting and reference hunting were highly interactive and helped students learn more about the library.
Principal Prof. DR. Rama Arora, congratulated all the participants and inspired the students by highlighting that reading is a powerful tool for personal and intellectual growth. She emphasized that regular reading not only expands vocabulary and enhances communication skills but also nurtures critical thinking and creativity, ultimately contributing to academic excellence, personality development, and all-round progress.
