The Department of Fine Arts of Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 11, Chandigarh successfully organized a one-day Resin Art Workshop on 01-11-2025. The workshop was attended by over 40 students from the B.A. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year Fine Arts courses, provided a unique and immersive learning experience into the fascinating world of resin art.
Under the student mentorship initiative, the Post Graduation student of our college ‘Ms. Bhavini Shorey’ demonstrated the technique of creating beautiful resin art creations such as refrigerator magnets, keychains, mandala-resin art showpieces and also showcased her resin art works amongst students.
The workshop aimed to equip students with practical, hands-on skills in creating vibrant, durable, and contemporary artworks using resin. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Guneeta Chadha, Head of the Department, along with Dr. Simmi Arora, Associate Professor, and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Instructor, Fine Arts.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in interactive demonstrations, exploring how resin can be combined with various pigments, colors, and textures to create stunning visual effects. The workshop not only enhanced the students’ artistic capabilities but also broadened their understanding of contemporary art techniques, encouraging them to experiment and push the boundaries of their creativity.
The event was a significant step towards further enriching the curriculum of the Fine Arts department, offering students a new perspective on the potential of mixed-media art. Dr. Chadha expressed her excitement about introducing such innovative and experimental techniques to the students and highlighted the department’s ongoing commitment to providing students with opportunities to explore diverse artistic practices.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora, lauded the students for their dedication and creativity, emphasizing the importance of such workshops in nurturing young artists and also appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of the students in creating and exhibiting vibrant resin art creations.
The workshop was well-received by the students, who appreciated the opportunity to experiment with resin art and gain practical insights into the growing field of mixed-media arts.
