WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION

PRAKRITI – The Environment Society, in collaboration with the NSS and NCC Units of PGGCG-11, celebrated World Environment Day with a tree plantation drive on the college campus, enthusiastically supported by faculty members, NSS volunteers and students.

An awareness session on reducing single-use plastic was conducted by Ms. Charu Sharma, Project Associate, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, highlighting the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the need for sustainable alternatives. An environmental pledge was also administered to encourage eco-friendly practices.

Prof. Harvinder Singh, Dean, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of collective action and sustainable living. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to environmental conservation and a vote of thanks by Dr. Sadhana Verma, In-charge.
