Healthy Minds, Drug-Free Youth: PGGCG-11 Champions Nasha Mukt Bharat on World Mental Health Day

SAARTHI – The Counselling Cell, in collaboration with the VADA (Victory Against Drug Abuse) Club of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, organised a Mental Health Awareness Campaign to commemorate World Mental Health Day under the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

The campaign featured mental health games, open-mic sessions, debates, psychological assessments, counselling, music, flash mobs, poster displays and various competitions. A dedicated counselling desk encouraged students to share their concerns and seek guidance in a supportive environment.

The VADA Club also organised an Inter-College Poster and Reel-Making Competition on the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva,” providing students a platform to spread awareness about drug abuse prevention through creative expression.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal visited the activity stalls, interacted with students and encouraged them to prioritise mental well-being, emotional resilience and a drug-free lifestyle. She also felicitated the winners with prizes and certificates. Shreya of GGDSD College, Sector 32, secured first prize in Poster Making, while Kushal Bedi of PGGCG-11 won first prize in Reel Making.

The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation and reinforced the college’s commitment to promoting mental health awareness, breaking stigma and nurturing a healthy, empowered and drug-free youth in support of Nasha Mukt Bharat.
