The Science Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, organized the National Science Day on February 25th, 2023, with the theme “Global Science for Global Well Being.” The event was held under the able guidance of Principal Prof (Dr) Anita Kaushal and the aegis of IQAC. The National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28th to commemorate the discovery of the “Raman Effect” by Bharat Ratna CV Raman, one of the greatest physicists of the 20th century. He was the first person of colour and the first Asian to receive a Nobel Prize for this groundbreaking discovery. The Department of Science and Technology and Renewable Energy, Chandigarh Administration sponsored the event, and registration for various inter-college competitions began at 9.00 am. Approximately 100 students from 11 colleges in the tricity registered for the different competitions.
