PGGCG-11 Celebrated 78th Independence Day

Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh celebrated 78th Independence Day on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat’ on 15-08-2024, that aligns with the Indian government’s vision to transform the nation into a developed country by 2047, the centenary of independence. Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college hoisted the National Tricolour, and members of the teaching and non-teaching faculty and students attended the ceremony.

Students of the Department of Music (Instrumental) showcased their talents by performing heartfelt patriotic melodies, while the students of Music (Vocal) department sang stirring medleys and harmonious group songs, all resonating with a strong sense of national pride. Students of Dance department delivered a captivating performance, showcasing the Vibrant Colors of Freedom. Students also shared their perspectives on freedom passionately, intertwining narratives of unsung heroes’ courage and sacrifices.

Addressing the faculty and students on this occasion, Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal observed that our hearts swell with pride with the sacred reminder of the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. She advised the students to become torchbearers of transformation and custodians of New India. She motivated them to never cease to learn, remain updated, strive for creativity; and to work tirelessly to build a drug-free, strong, united and prosperous Viksit Bharat.

On this occasion, a Tree plantation drive was also organised.
