PGGCG-11 celebrated Wildlife Day

JEEVANSH – The Zoological Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector–11, Chandigarh, under the aegis of IQAC, celebrated Wildlife Day on 28 February 2026 by organizing intra-college competitions on the theme “Wildlife Conservation.”

The event was graced by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal as the Chief Guest. In her address, she highlighted the critical importance of wildlife conservation in maintaining biodiversity, ensuring ecological balance, and safeguarding the health of our planet. She also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Zoology for successfully organizing the event.

Approximately 60 students from undergraduate and postgraduate classes actively participated in various competitions. Winners were awarded prizes in recognition of their achievements.

The competitions were followed by an insightful lecture by Mr. Madan Sharma, Founder of Global Apiaries (India). He emphasized the significance of the beekeeping industry in promoting entrepreneurship among the younger generation, particularly women. Sharing his personal journey, he also discussed the basic infrastructure and requirements needed to establish such an enterprise.
