On September 22, 2023, under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal,the Department of Philosophy at PGGCG-11, Chandigarh organized the seventh lecture of their Seminar Series “Dialogue” on the topic “Ethics and Idea of Just Society. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Lallan Singh Baghel, facultyof the Department of Philosophy, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and was attended by college faculty around 50 students.
Ms. Manju, a student of BA Final Year, chaired the session and introduced the theme of the lecture and the speaker. During the lecture, Mr. Lallan Singh Baghel encouraged the participants to explore the theme with philosophical investigation. He effectively shared the ideas of thinkers from the west and Indian context, primarily Socrates, Lincoln, Gandhi, Ambedkar and Phule in context to affirmative actions for a just society.
On the occasion faculty members of the College and students raised many significant questions. Ms Gurleen of BA first year and Dr. Ambuj Sharma, Head of the Department of Philosophy at PGGCG-11, extended the vote of thanks.
