The Kala Triveni Society of Postgraduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, organised a Dhrupad vocal concert on 07 August 2025. The concert featured the acclaimed Mallick Brothers — Pt. Parshant Mallick and Pt. Nishant Mallick.
Dhrupad, a revered genre of Hindustani classical music, is among the oldest surviving forms, renowned for its meditative and devotional character. Its roots can be traced back to the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The Principal of the college, Prof. Rama Arora, extended a floral welcome to the distinguished artists. The enthralling recital commenced with a detailed Alap in Raga Mian Malhar, followed by Jod, intricate layakari variations, and fast-tempo taans.
