A Seven-Day NSS Special Camp with the theme “Healthy Youth, Healthy Nation: Nutrition for Body, Mind and Community” organised in Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh on 25.09.2025. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Rama Arora, Principal, of the college.
Dr. M. Dhrakshayani, NSS programme Coordinator, outlined the activities scheduled during the week-long camp. These include awareness drives on personal hygiene and healthy lifestyles, cleanliness campaigns, yoga sessions, fitness workshops, health check-ups, and expert lectures. She emphasized that the camp seeks to promote overall well-being by nurturing physical fitness, mental strength, and community service.
A total of 150 NSS volunteers registered for the camp under the guidance of three dedicated NSS Programme Officers – Mr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Vijay Kumar, and Ms. Madhvi Sharma. The initiative aims to instill in volunteers the values of self-discipline, social responsibility, and community service aligning with the NSS motto of “Not Me, But You.”
Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the NSS team and encouraged the volunteers to actively participate in the camp, emphasizing that good health and hygiene are the foundations of a progressive society.
