Literary And Debating Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh organised the first event for the session 2024-25 on September 3rd 2024. It was an Intra-College Lit-Fest that included Declamation, Sher-o-shayari, Folksong, Story Writing, Poetry Writing, Essay Writing and Handwriting competitions in various languages. Prof Maninder Sidhu, Convenor of LDS, read the annual report and highlighted the role of the society in honing the literary and oratory stills of the students. Several faculty members from the humanities attended the function. Students of the society displayed their talent and potential in various literary items. There was an overwhelming response from the students. Around 150 students participated in the events. Students showcased their talent in the above mentioned events. The literary bonanza concluded with the declaration of results. Aditi, Khushboo and Kirti bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the declamation contest. In the folk song category, Twinkle and Arshpreet secured 1st and 3rd position respectively while 2nd position was shared by Manjinder and Kritika. Sanjeevni and Bhawna Sharma bagged 1st position in Poetry Writing in English and Hindi language, respectively. Towards the end of the event, Dr. Mohal Lal Jatt, HOD, Dept of Hindi congratulated the prize winners and shared his views with the audience.
