The Department of Commerce at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, successfully organised BIZFEST–2026 on 26 February 2026 with great enthusiasm and vibrancy. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by an invocation of Goddess Saraswati, setting a graceful and auspicious tone for the day.
A series of inter-college competitions were held across diverse domains, including Business Idea, Just a Minute, Ad-Mad Show, Dance, and Poster-Making. The fest was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, in the presence of the Dean, Vice-Principal, and faculty members from various colleges.
Participants from different institutions showcased their academic excellence, creativity, and innovative thinking through a range of engaging competitions. The cultural segment added further charm to the event, with soulful musical performances, self-composed poetry, and energetic Western and solo dance presentations captivating the audience and creating a lively atmosphere.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal motivated students to adopt a balanced and holistic approach to education. She emphasised the importance of overall development, highlighting the vital role of both academics and extracurricular activities in shaping well-rounded individuals, and encouraged students to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Meenu Verma, Head of the Department of Commerce, expressing gratitude to all participants, guests, and organisers for making the fest a grand success.
