Kala Triveni, the Society of Music (Vocal, Instrumental) and Dance of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, organized a vibrant Talent Hunt for freshers of undergraduate and postgraduate classes on 22nd August 2025. The event served as a platform to identify and showcase the artistic brilliance of the new entrants.
The occasion was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora, Principal, as the Chief Guest. She was accompanied by Prof. Kanwar Iqbal, Dean, and Prof. (Dr.) Harvinder Singh, Vice Principal, whose presence added distinction and encouragement to the programme.
The Talent Hunt witnessed an enthusiastic participation of over 50 students, who mesmerized the audience with their diverse performances. The Vocal Music category featured Geet/Ghazal, Bhajan/Shabad/Sufi, Folk Songs/Heritage, and Bollywood numbers. In the Instrumental segment, students impressed the audience with their skills in both Percussion and Non-Percussion instruments. The Dance performances added colour and rhythm, with participants presenting Semi-Classical Solo, Folk Solo, and Freestyle Solo pieces.
The audience was enthralled by the spellbinding performances, which reflected the richness of cultural heritage and the immense talent of the students.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora applauded the Department of Music and Dance for creating a lively platform to nurture creativity. She encouraged the students to strive for excellence, pursue their passions wholeheartedly, and bring laurels to the institution.
Dr. Amita Sharma, Convenor of Kala Triveni, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Principal for her motivating presence and inspiring words.
The event concluded on a joyous note with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners, who were warmly applauded for their outstanding performances.
