PGGCG-11 organized 66th Annual Convocation

The 66th Annual Convocation of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, was held on April 8, 2025. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Rajeev Verma, IAS, Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, UT Chandigarh.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and Principal, Prof. Anita Kaushal, followed by a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the students.

Over 1,050 students successfully completed their Graduation and Post-Graduation during the academic session 2023–24.

Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college, presented the Annual Report and highlighted the exceptional accomplishments of the students in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports. She also emphasized the contributions of the faculty as active members of Panjab University’s academic bodies and their research pursuits.

She proudly outlined the remarkable progress made by the college over the past year, including accolades for environmental conservation, sustainable development, cleanliness drives, the Eat Right Campus initiative, cybersecurity awareness, and anti-drug campaigns—at both national and international levels.

Notably, the college has clinched the Overall Trophy at the Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival for the eleventh consecutive year. The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of the college has also been awarded a Four-Star Status by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Furthermore, the college has received the prestigious award for Best Institute (Senior Wing) for its exemplary performance in NCC activities.

In his Convocation Address, Shri Rajeev Verma congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to build a future filled with hope, achievement, and positive transformation. He urged them to remain grateful to those who supported them throughout their academic journey. He remarked, “The future is not something that happens; it is something we create—and we create it together.”

In an inspiring message, he reminded the students that the nation needs their ideas and energy. He called upon them to be bold, innovative, pursue excellence, and uphold strong values.

On this special occasion, more than 80 students who excelled in college and Panjab University examinations were felicitated. Among them, 10 students who secured first positions in Panjab University exams were awarded medals, while 19 students received the Roll of Honour from the Chief Guest in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
