The Postgraduate Department of Commerce, PG Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Nostalgia, the Alumni Association of the college, organized a motivational talk on January 30, 2025. The session was graced by the esteemed alumna, Ms. Reetika Gupta, from the B.Com (Hons.) batch of 2017, who recently secured the 4th rank in the Indian Economic Services (IES) Examination 2024.
Ms.Reetika Gupta, an all-rounder during her college years, actively participated in various co-curricular activities such as quizzes, debates, and declamation contests. Her journey to success was filled with challenges and she candidly shared her experiences with the students, inspiring them with her perseverance and determination.
During her address, Ms. Gupta emphasized the importance of hard work, dedication and resilience. She revealed that her preparation for the IES exam spanned two years, during which she faced multiple failures in different competitive exams. However, she never lost hope and continued striving toward her goal. She reinforced the idea that “failure is the key to success” and encouraged students to embrace their struggles as stepping stones toward their achievements.
Her words left a profound impact on the audience, instilling motivation and a positive outlook towards academic and personal growth. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, where students eagerly sought guidance on exam preparation strategies and career planning.
