PGGCG-11 organizes a Lecture cum Demonstration on Skill Development for Animation and Design Innovation in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) and Chandigarh Design School

The P. G. Department of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) and Chandigarh Design School, orchestrated a Lecture cum Demonstration on Skill Development for Animation and Design Innovation on the 8th of February 2024. The event took place in the multimedia hall of the P.G. Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh.  Professor (Dr.) Guneeta Chadha, Vice Principal and Head of Department of Fine Arts, who also served as the program’s coordinator, elucidated the contemporary significance of animation to the attending students and extended invitations to the guest speakers for their presentations. Approximately 90 students, comprising BA Fine Arts 1, II, III, MA-I, MA-II, BCA, and students from the Diploma in Animation program, participated in the session. Principal Professor (Dr.) Anita Kaushal underscored the growing ubiquity of animation in modern life and encouraged students to acquire this skill set for their benefit. She commended the Fine Arts department for organizing such a career-focused initiative for the students.  The discussion delved into various facets of animation production, elucidating different software tools and their applications. Furthermore, the discourse covered the subject’s scope and the constraints of the medium, complemented by relevant examples. The stage management for the event was skilfully executed by Ms. Devanshi Saini, a second-year MA student in Fine Arts and also the class representative (CR) of the Fine Arts department. Dr. O.P. Parameswaran, a member of the organizing committee along with Dr. Simmi Arora, conveyed the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the session.
