Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, organized a Blood Donation Camp on April 2, 2026, under the inspiring leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal. The event was honored by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent, Head of the Department of Hospital Administration, and Nodal Officer, ROTTO, PGIMER, who attended as the Chief Guest.
In his address, he appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Blood Donation Society and the Sukh Foundation for the efficient organization of the camp. He highlighted that such initiatives not only fulfill critical medical needs but also nurture a spirit of empathy and service among students. Encouraging voluntary blood donation, he urged everyone to make it a regular practice and inspire others to join this life-saving cause, emphasizing that collective efforts can help ensure no patient suffers due to a shortage of blood.
The camp was organized by the college’s Blood Donation Society in collaboration with NSS and Nostalgia—the Alumni Association—with generous support from the Sukh Foundation. The initiative witnessed an encouraging response, with 91 registrations, out of which 47 students, faculty, and non-teaching staff successfully donated blood. While some volunteers could not donate due to medical reasons, their willingness to contribute was sincerely appreciated.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Meenu Verma, Convenor of the Blood Donation Society, with valuable support from Dr. Ragini and Ms. Kunjan. A professional medical team from PGIMER, Chandigarh, ensured that the blood collection process adhered to strict safety and hygiene protocols. All donors underwent necessary health screenings, and post-donation, they were provided with refreshments sponsored by the Sukh Foundation along with certificates of appreciation.
Dr. Meenu Verma expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors and volunteers, describing blood donation as a noble act that saves lives and commending the enthusiasm of both first-time and regular donors. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal also applauded the collective efforts of students, faculty, alumni, and medical professionals, encouraging continued participation in such humanitarian initiatives.
The Blood Donation Camp concluded successfully, reinforcing the values of compassion, community service, and responsible citizenship among the youth.
