The Valedictory function of NSS seven days Day/Night camp was organized in Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh on 04-10-2019. The camp was organized from 28th, Sept. 2019 to 4th Oct. 2019. More than 150 volunteers participated in the camp. A cultural programme was organized during the occasion. The theme of the camp was “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jal Shakti Abhiyan”.
Principal Prof. Anita Kaushal, who was the chief guest for the valedictory function, motivated the students to work in harmony for community service and gave insights to save water. She applauded the volunteers for their untiring efforts throughout the camp.
The volunteers of post-graduate departments of Public Administration and Botany made a presentation to highlight the significance of Jal Shakti Abhiyan which served as an eye-opener for the campers. During the camp, the volunteers visited the adopted village Khudda Jassu. Swachhta rallies, nukkad nataks and door to door interaction were carried out to make the villagers aware about the importance of hygiene and water conservation in the village. Meanwhile, in the college, experts delivered talks on various issues like Menstrual Hygiene, water conservation etc. Lectures on ‘Gandhian way of living’ were delivered on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary. Sessions on Yoga for girls were also organized.
