PGGCG-11 Celebrated 77th Republic Day

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, on January 26, 2026. The National Tricolour was unfurled by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Anita Kaushal, in the presence of faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students.

The celebration featured a vibrant cultural program. Students from the Music Instrumental Department presented “Rashtriya Geeton Ka Vaadya Vrind,” a captivating ensemble of patriotic melodies. This was followed by a soulful medley of songs by the Music Vocal Department, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. Speeches, poems, and melodious group songs further evoked a deep sense of nationalism among all present. Additionally, NSS volunteers organized a tree plantation drive as part of the celebrations.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Anita Kaushal extended her heartfelt congratulations to both students and staff on this significant occasion. She remarked that Republic Day is far more than just a date on the calendar; it stands as a living tribute to the dreams and sacrifices of our freedom fighters and represents a cornerstone of both the India we have inherited and the India we continue to shape.

She emphasized that a republic thrives when its citizens are aware, disciplined, compassionate, and inclusive. She noted that if teachers lead by example, students uphold integrity, and institutions remain committed to constitutional values, the future of India will be strong, confident, and inspiring.

She concluded by urging everyone to pledge to uphold the values of the Constitution, not merely in words, but through consistent practice in every sphere of life.
