Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh Organises Wordy Brew 2026

The Department of English at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, successfully hosted the annual fest of its Epiphany Society, Wordy Brew 2026, on April 6, 2026. Organized under the aegis of IQAC, the event revolved around the theme “Bringing Books to Life” and drew enthusiastic participation from nearly 200 students across streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce, and BCA.

The fest showcased a diverse range of literary and creative competitions aimed at fostering imagination, critical thinking, and artistic expression. Highlights included If I Were an Author (book cover design), Quote to Click (photography), Characters on Trial (dramatic monologues), Live Scene Remix (intertextual performance), Lit Quiz, Harry Potter Debate, Snaptale (creative storytelling), and Translating Tunes (musical adaptation). Together, these activities offered students an engaging platform to experience literature beyond conventional classroom settings while encouraging interdisciplinary exploration.

Participants impressed with their originality, confidence, and intellectual energy, demonstrating a strong inclination toward literary and cultural engagement. The judges commended the overall quality of performances and the creativity reflected in the interpretations.

The event was graced by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, who felicitated the winners. In her address, she appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and lauded the English Department for organizing such a vibrant and intellectually stimulating fest. She also underscored the role of co-curricular activities in nurturing personality development and creative potential.

The fest concluded on a celebratory note, highlighting the spirit of literature, creativity, and collaboration, and reaffirming the department’s dedication to holistic education and active student engagement. The successful execution of the event was greatly supported by the guidance and leadership of Dr. Tanuja Pathak, Head of the Department of English.
