Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, organised an awareness lecture on “Osteoporosis: An Epidemic of Modern Era” by JIGYASA – The Science Society and NSS Units, under the aegis of IQAC, in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Chandigarh Extended Region Chapter.
Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, PGIMER, Chandigarh, sensitised students about osteoporosis, its risk factors, early diagnosis and preventive measures, emphasising healthy lifestyle choices for better bone health.
Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal and Patron, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and healthy living. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sadhana Verma, Convener, Science Society, along with NSS Units and members of JIGYASA.
