Workshop on Investor Awareness

The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and Placement Cell of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, organised a Workshop on Investor Awareness today. More than 150 students participated in the programme. The workshop was organised to create awareness among students about financial literacy, financial planning, investment options, investor rights and safe investment practices. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Ritu Bala, a SEBI SMART Trainer and Financial Literacy Expert, with more than 10 years of experience in teaching, training, and financial education. Addressing the students, Dr. Ritu Bala highlighted the significance of financial awareness and explained various aspects of financial planning, investment options, investor rights and safe investing practices. With experience of conducting more than 1,000 investor awareness programmes, she shared practical insights to help students understand the fundamentals of responsible investing and informed financial decision-making.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising queries related to financial planning and investment. The workshop proved to be an informative
and valuable initiative towards enhancing financial literacy and promoting responsible financial decision-making among the students.
Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal of the College, encouraged and motivated the students to develop financial awareness and make informed decisions regarding their personal finances. She emphasised the importance of equipping young students with the knowledge and skills required to manage their finances responsibly.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person, college authorities, faculty members, NSS Unit, Placement Cell and students for their active participation and contribution to the successful organisation of the workshop.
