The Department of Psychology, in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh University and the Indian Association of Health, Research and Welfare (IAHRW), hosted an RCI-approved three-day National CRE Workshop on “Digital Age and Child Mental Health: Behavioral Addictions, Screen Use and Emerging Psychopathology” from September 10–12, 2026.
Inaugurated by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal as Chief Guest, the workshop brought together eminent experts including Dr. Munish Nagpal (IAS), Dr. Prabhjot Malhi (Fortis Mohali), Dr. Bhavneet Bharti (PGI Chandigarh), Dr. Roma Kumar (Sir Ganga Ram Hospital), and Dr. Bani Narula (Panjab University).
The event provided practical training to RCI-registered professionals and students, focusing on critical issues such as problematic screen time, online gaming addiction, cyberbullying, and youthful psychopathology, while highlighting protective strategies for parents and schools. Principal Prof. Kaushal commended the organizers and speakers for addressing this urgent societal issue and stressing the need for early mental health interventions among youth.
