PGGCG-11 Organised a Music Concert in Collaboration with Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India

The Cultural Society of PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, organised a Music Concert on 23-08-2024 in collaboration with Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Relations, Govt. of India. The event was organised under Horizon Series Programme. Internationally acclaimed artists graced the occasion and rendered musical compositions. The performances were highly applauded by the audience.

Sh. Subrata De, eminent sitar vadak representing Bishnupur Gharana of Hindustani Classical Musicaccompanied by renowned table player Pt. Mithilesh Jha from Banaras Gharana were the performers. The sitar recital started with Raga Nat Bhairav slow gat in teen taal, followed by a composition in mat taal and a composition in drutlai. The performance was concluded with a melodious dhun depicting ragas pilu, shivranjani and raga bhairavi. The students ofDepartments of Music Vocal, Music Instrumental and Dance interacted with the legends and gathered knowledge about the intricacies of music. The artists were honoured by Prof (Dr) Anita Kaushal, Principal and Mr. Kanwar Iqbal, Dean.

Principal Prof (Dr) Anita Kaushal congratulated the Cultural society for organising the programme and stressed that the college always aims at holistic development of the students.
