The Department of Computer Applications successfully organised one day talk on “Start-ups Opportunities in context of Computer Science and Applications” on 22nd August, 2023. Dr. Anuj Kumar form Department of Computer Science and Applications Panjab University, Chandigarh was our guest speaker. Around 140 students from PGDCA, BCA 3rd and BCA 2nd year had attended the talk. The main purpose of this talk was to give knowledge to students about various start-up opportunities in the field of IT. Dr. Anuj also told the students about how to start business according to their area of interests. He had also discussed about various open-source software’s available on internet for start-ups like Linux, PHP, MYSQL, Google Chrome etc.
In the first phase of the talk, Dr. Anuj had enlightened the students about:

- Earning by Digital Marketing(YouTube, Facebook, Email)
- How to learn Networking (hardware)
- Application Development
- Database Administration
- Artificial Intelligence
- Photo/Video Editing
- Mobile App Development
In Second Phase of the talk, he had described Freelancing jobs by providing students with the name of various freelancing websites and like:
