The Training and Placement Cell of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, under the aegis of IQAC, successfully organized a “Mega Job Fair 2026” for final-year students from the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams on April 10, 2026.
The event commenced at 9:00 a.m., with the participation of several reputed companies, including Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, eClerx, Aerial Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Alar Solutions, Infomaths Pvt. Ltd., and Ping.Me. The recruiters initiated the proceedings with concise yet informative presentations, highlighting their organizational profiles, achievements in the Chandigarh region, and expectations from fresh graduates, available job roles, and long-term career opportunities.
The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, warmly welcomed the corporate representatives and reiterated the institution’s commitment to strengthening academia-industry collaboration. In her address, she emphasized the college’s consistent efforts in nurturing professional competence, ethical values, and entrepreneurial skills through a range of academic and co-curricular initiatives. She also commended the students for their enthusiasm and proactive participation, encouraging them to perform to the best of their abilities during the recruitment process.
The job fair witnessed the active participation of approximately 300 students, of whom more than 141 candidates were successfully shortlisted by the participating companies—marking a significant achievement for the institution.
The Placement Cell, under the guidance of Dr. Naveen Pandhi, Placement Coordinator, along with the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee comprising Dr. Dipankar Sukul, Mr. Mohit Sanan, Lt. Harpreet Kaur, and Dr. Ravneet Kaur, ensured the smooth and efficient execution of the event. The Students’ Council also played a vital role in coordinating various aspects of the programme.
The event concluded on a highly successful note, further reinforcing the college’s commitment to enhancing student employability and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
