The Post Graduate Department of Sociology, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector–11, Chandigarh, proudly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samvedana, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable impact in the areas of gender, nutrition, education, and skill development for underprivileged communities.
To mark this occasion, a special lecture on “Decode Gender: Myths, Mindset and Change” was organized.
Ms. Monika Vij Sikka, Head of the Department, warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of academic collaborations with field-based organizations.
Ms. Prajakta Avhad, Founder & President of Samvedana and a noted gender expert, delivered an insightful session on gender inequality and patriarchy in India. She emphasized the transformative power of education in women’s empowerment and inspired students through real-life experiences.
Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal, congratulated the department and appreciated the initiative, expressing confidence that the MoU will provide valuable practical exposure and learning opportunities for students.
