DEMONSTRATION SESSION ON CPR AND FIRST AID TECHNIQUES

Community Hygiene and Public Health Society of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh along with NSS units and Red Ribbon Society of the college organized a demonstration session on CPR and other First Aid techniques. The programme was organized to acquaint the students about basic first aid techniques like CPR, dressings, bandaging, splinting etc. The main objective of the demonstration session was to make students learn the skills to manage common injuries during medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Dr. Rahul Kumar Joshi, Consultant Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, Indus Superspeciality Hospital, Panchkula, was invited to demonstrate various emergency protocols to be followed during any unforeseen mis-happening. Around 100 students and faculty members participated in the programme and showed tremendous enthusiasm in learning basic life saving techniques. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr) Anita Kaushal appreciated the initiative taken by the Community Health and Public Health Society and emphasized the need to make every student aware about CPR and other basic life support techniques.
