The keynote speaker was introduced by Ms. Smriti, B.A. 3rd Year.

The keynote speaker said that material development is taking place at a very fast pace in the world but, at the same time, it is of utmost importance that the human values should also develop in human beings. Sanskrit literature has many texts such as Vedas, Brahman, Aranyaka, Upanishad, Darshan, Ramayana and Mahabharata, which are helpful and valuable as far as the development of human values is concerned. This type of literature is rare elsewhere. It has a coordination of both knowledge and science. Sanskrit is the base language of all Indian languages. He said, while giving examples, that there are many words in Punjabi and English that sound similar to the words in Sanskrit. People of other subjects who do research on ancient knowledge and science must have knowledge of Sanskrit because proper results cannot be obtained from translated texts. Sanskrit plays a very important role in our progress as well as the progress of the nation.

The programme was anchored by Ms. Manvir Kaur and Ms. Smriti B.A. 3rd year. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Chandan Lal Gupta.
