Nostalgia- Registered Alumni Association
Alumni Association ‘Nostalgia’ registered in 2016 under the Societies Registration Act, has more than 4000 registered alumnae ranging from all walks of life viz., public services, judiciary, media, medicine, academics, entrepreneurship, sports etc. Some of our worthy alumnae are Kanwal Thakar Singh, former badminton player and an Arjuna Awardee, Mrs. Kirron Kher (MP), Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora (IAS), Dr Shivani Raheja (ESSW, GESP, Vancouver, Canada), Ms. Manvika Yadav (Civil Judge), Shawaldeep Kaur (RTO Manager at Trinity Institute, Sydney), Garima Singh (IRS), Preeti Yadav (IPS).
Alumni Meet is organised twice a year that gives an opportunity to our students to improve upon themselves through the enriching experiences of our worthy alumnae.
The association releases an annual newsletter that apprises our alumnae and students of the activities organised throughout the year.
Ever since its inception, the association has provided a platform to our former students to contribute and give back to their alma mater in varied forms.
Financial Support
Our alumnae offer financial assistance to the underprivileged and meritorious students of the college through myriad scholarships and awards. Principal Dr. Anita Kaushal (Mrs. Pushpa Ojha Scholarship), Mrs. Gurdip Kaur (Davinder Kaur Scholarship), Mrs. Neelam Rattan (Dharam Rattan Scholarship), Mrs. Meera Madan (Panna Lal Madan Scholarship) are some of the names who have been donating generously to uplift the students from different streams. Students have received an aid of more than Rs. 1,40,000 through these scholarships. Additionally, more than 650,000 has been contributed by our alumnae in the form of registration and participation fee during 2017-2022.
Events Organised by 'Nostalgia'
Association in collaboration with different societies and departments of the college organised various events like Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, Traffic Awareness Programme, Cancer Awareness Drive, Anti Cracker Rally etc. during the last 5 years.
Alumnae as Mentors
Our alumnae from as far as Afghanistan and Canada have been sparing their valuable time to enlighten the young minds through lectures, interactive sessions and open discussions on pertinent issues like Domestic Violence, Women Empowerment, Optimising Emotional Well Being, Solar Energy and Biomass, etc.
Pandemic could not affect the close association that our alumnae share with their alma mater. More than 10 virtual lectures were organised by different departments during Covid-19 where our distinguished alumnae enriched our students by sharing their experiences and knowledge. Dr. Pankaj Mala Sharma interacted with the students on the topic ‘The Role of Alumni in the Propagation of Music’ and Dr. Nandi Bhatia, Professor, University of Western Ontario, Canada delivered a lecture on ‘Bridging Borders Through Literature’, to name a few.
Honouring Alumnae
Several alumnae have graced various occasions with their presence as Guests of Honour/Chief Guest and have also acted as Judges in many events. Our illustrious alumna Hon’ble Justice Ritu Bahri graced the 61st Annual Prize Distribution function of the college in the year 2017. Ms. Simrat Rana, Ms. Sudha Vashisht and Ms. Meenakshi have judged various competitions like modelling and poster making conducted in the college.
